Programme for the Day Course

Morning Session: Introduction to No Dig
10:00 AM: Arrival at Ballyteige Lodge with welcoming Coffee and Scones.

Introduction to No Dig: Delve into the advantages of the No Dig method, including time and effort savings, improved soil ecology, and health. Charles will guide you through the process using visual aids from his own garden, covering various topics such as tackling perennial weeds, utilizing cardboard and black plastic, and effective composting techniques. Explore seasonal strategies, from harvesting winter vegetables to seed saving, and tap into unmeasurable energies through copper tools, Biodynamics, and more.

Midday: Nourishing Lunch
Indulge in a delectable two-course vegetarian buffet, complete with vegan options, coffee, tea, and kombucha.

Afternoon Session: Practical Applications
Creating a New Plant Bed: Witness the transformation of a plot into a new plant bed, using a range of compost types.
Building a Compost Heap: Participate in constructing a new compost heap with provided materials.

Exploring Ballyteige Lodge
Post-course, guests are invited to wander through 20 acres of Ballyteige Lodge's historical gardens. Established in the 1890s, the estate boasts a rich array of features including mature trees, vibrant flower borders, a deciduous forest, and a stunning water garden.
