Our Colourful History
Ballyteige was built in 1900, as shooting lodge and country retreat, for the eminent Dublin Surgeon, John McArdle. Family members still own the lodge. Read more about the colourful history of the house and its valley >>
The River Garden
The house is a late Victorian lodge set in thirty acres of mature woodland gardens along the River Ow. The intention is to restore, with due sensitivity, the network of paths, steps and bridges around the River Garden and open it to the public in 2013.
